The Essential Pit Bull terrier

This book is very deep to my heart, The blue and white dog in the book is my little girl Xena "Woodsforest Diamond Diva" who was sadly put down at 9 years of age because of Canine Cerebal Ataxia which destroys the motor skills and balance of the animal, She was the best animal I have ever owned. There is a test for Ataxia now and I would have still bought her from the breeder if I had known this before hand. Xena was accutualy a American Staffordshire Terrier as she was only regestered with the AKC. You will not find better family dogs than this breed but do your homework on the issues that face these great animals before hand so you get a healthy animal to give you years of love. Quick Intro To A Pit Bull

This review will be short and to the point... I recently rescued a dog that is mostly Pit mixed with Chow Chow and Mastiff. This book was a great intro to the characteristics of Pit Bulls. I didn't know a whole lot about Pits, so this book was very helpful to me. If you are considering a Pit as a pet and have never had one and don't want to read a book the size of a dictionary...this is great!
Great book for the first time owner

If you have just purchased your first pit bull or are just thinking about purchasing a pit bull, this is the book for you. I have owned two pit bulls for 6 months now and I purchased them without having any knowledge of the breed. They are great dogs and are eager listeners, but there are alot of things that I learned from the book that are very helpful. This book will definitely make better dogs and me a better owner. The title fits the book, "Essential" for all owners.
