Sniffing Down the Right Trail

This is a pleasant, quick read including an index about the care and background of the beagle. A lively, intelligent little hound, the beagle is beautifully featured in some really good photographs. If pet owners wish to go so far as to paste their hound's picture in the book, it gives you a place to do so. While that seems a bit much to me, it is nice that the option exists for others. I like the list of resources included at the end of the book.

This slim book (95 pages, including index) is very modern and full of nice touches. Opening with a "Your Essential Beagle Information Sheet" complete with a spot to paste a picture of your Beagle and closing with a good summary of other Beagle and dog resources, The Essential Beagle is clearly illustrated and has many excellent Beagle photos.Chapters include Getting to Know Your Beagle, Health, Nutrition, Cleaning and more. Advice throughout is well written and concise. The Essential Beagle is a favorite around our home and should be especially appreciated by youngsters.
