The book lends itself to assuring the student of anatomy, no matter how new or experienced, a sense of accomplishment. My experience when teaching anatomy is that many students feel immediately overwhelmed no matter which text is used. This handbook seriously offers reason while encouraging critical thinking and drawing you into whatever text you are using. It is not simply a "Notes" or "dummies" book. Rather it is a finely tuned version of A & P that every student of anatomy should have at their side with the text and their dissector. For others taking a "short" course, this would definitely provide much better understanding for application.
