Introduces simple Halloween images and the numbers from one to five as Peter Rabbit spies the full moon, runs into two spiders, and nibbles on three treats. On board pages.
At 9 months, my son picked this book out at the bookstore (which is to say, he wanted to eat it, so we had to buy it). It soon became one of the few books he would sit through. It is about 5 pages long, and each page has only a few words--like "1 silvery moon"--plus a few "fillers", like "Happy Halloween, Peter Rabbit." Anyway, my pont is that this age-group is often more intereted in turning pages and seeing bright colors than in listening to a story. At 15 months, he still loves this book. The stars, the moon, the eyes of the jack-o-lantern are foil, so they are shiny. The number of stars on each page corresponds to the number shown, so not only can you count "3 yummy treats" but then you can count the stars, too. For a short little book, there is a lot to talk about. Highly recommended for little ones with no attention span (which would be most).
