As a child, my father used to read me sections of this very book at bedtime. Nevermind that it hadn't been published yet. I could identify with young Orca and his struggles to become who he became. This story, and the stories it contains, recall the magic we knew existed when we were kids, and somehow forget when we're older. My father has written a wonderful book to grow up on... I should know: I did.
Great read and outstanding knowledge of Alaska.
