Life has a peculiar way of halting us in our tracks at various points throughout our existence. When that moment arrives, what do we do? Do we flee from the danger or stress, only to spiral further into uncertainty? Do we collapse into a fetal position and succumb to despair? Or do we stand firm and search for a way forward? Throughout my life, I've faced abandonment, dangerous encounters, paranormal events, catastrophic medical experiences, near-death situations, and heart-wrenching moments--if it's happened, I've likely lived through it. This is the story of my journey, my ability to adapt, my relentless search for solutions, and my commitment to finding beauty and positivity in the face of adversity. It's a story of survival and, ultimately, of discovering happiness no matter what life throws my way--including losing six years of my life due to near-total amnesia caused by improperly prescribed medication and confronting a nationwide gang to end crime in my neighborhood. For years, I had contemplated writing my story. There were so many bizarre and extraordinary occurrences that, at times, I believed no one would believe they happened to me. I have always been a person of faith, believing in God and praying daily. I'm convinced that God often guides us through subtle and random means, if only we are attuned to the signals. Despite this, life always seemed to interfere, and my story remained unwritten. I had long considered the idea of living in another country, though I never thought I would take the leap--especially not alone. My girlfriend at the time shared an interest in experiencing a different way of life, so together, we began researching our options. After much thought and prayer, Panama seemed to offer the right opportunity. It turned out that I qualified for a special visa that would grant us permanent residency, and so, we set the process in motion. We spent six months planning, selling off everything we owned, and preparing for our new adventure. Upon our arrival in Panama City, we spent about two weeks finalizing our paperwork with an attorney. During this time, I began discussing the strange events that had shaped my life, as well as my desire to write about them. I had already chosen the title for the book: A Recipe of Life . The experience that ultimately persuaded me to begin writing occurred on our final night in Panama City. Throughout my life, I've faced more than my share of unfair and unusual events. Yet, I am not only surviving, but I also find joy and gratitude each day. Despite the obstacles and heartache, I have experienced moments of profound beauty and fulfillment. I've fallen in love, raised children, and pursued my passions and dreams. I've had the privilege of experiencing things that most people never will. Life is complex--composed of countless stories, emotions, and people. We are all shaped by the experiences we endure and those we share with others. I invite you to join me on this journey through my life, hoping that you will laugh, cry, feel anger, and ultimately gain insights into your own life.
